Applying for the Electrical Apprenticeship

Equal Opportunity in ApprenticeshipThe Warren Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee accepts applications for the electrical apprenticeship every Monday of each month (excluding Holidays), from 8:00 AM -12:00 PM and from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM at the Electrical Trades Institute of Northeast Ohio, 4550 Research Parkway, Warren, Ohio 44483. There is a $25.00 application fee that must be paid when the application is filled out. You should allow yourself at least 30 minutes to complete the application.

The Warren Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Trust admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all of the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, athletic and other school administered programs.

Minimum Requirements

  • Applicants must be at least 17 years of age
  • Be a high school graduate or have a GED, or, in lieu of a high school diploma or GED, have a two year Associate Degree or higher
  • Provide Official transcripts for high school and post high school education and training or Official copy of GED Certificate and transcripts, if applicable
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License
  • Provide High School Diploma
  • Applicants meeting the minimum requirements will take an aptitude test

Interviewing

To qualify for an interview, an applicant must score a “4” or higher on the electrical trade’s aptitude test. Qualified applicants will be notified by mail as to their interview date and time. All qualified candidate’s results are statistically recorded and ranked. All qualified applicants will remain on the ranking list and in the pool of eligible applicants for two years from the date of their interview.

Upon Selection
If selected to participate in the apprenticeship, an applicant is required to pass a physical and drug test given by our physicians. An applicant cannot be placed to work without this medical release.
